Dre Yin

Dr. Yin obtained her medical degree at McGill University in Montréal, Québec,
graduating with honours. She subsequently underwent a urology residency at McGill
University where she developed a particular interest in reconstructive surgery and
gender-affirming care. To fulfill that passion, she completed a fellowship training in
reconstructive urology, gender affirmation and men’s sexual health at the
prestigious Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, one of the busiest gender-
affirming programs in the United States. Under the mentorship of world-renowned surgeons, she performed over 500 cases, focusing both on primary gender-affirming surgeries as well as revisions. Her background in urology gives her a unique perspective when addressing complex cases, including fistulas, strictures and prosthetic malfunction. In fact, she is the only practising urologist trained in gender-affirming care within the province of Quebec. Dr. Yin is also a practising academic urologist at the CIUSSS du Nord-de-l’Île-de-Montréal where she has a busy reconstructive and men’s health practice. Dr. Yin has coauthored multiple research publications and book chapters as well as presented at many national and international meetings. Her main research interests include assessing clinical and surgical outcomes, implementing new techniques and medical education. Known for her compassion, empathy and strong drive, Dr. Yin is appreciated by colleagues and patients alike. She looks forward to joining the GrS Montréal team, providing comprehensive, patient-centred care and advancing the field through research and innovation.
