Dr Poncio

D^r. Mar Aristeo Poncio received his medical degree in 2014 from the University of the Philippines - College of Medicine in Manila. He also completed his training there by accessing the 6-year plastic surgery residency program at the Philippine General Hospital, for which he graduated in 2021.

Before devoting himself entirely to medicine, D^r. Poncio earned a Bachelor of Science cum laude in Biology, specializing in Cellular and Molecular Biology, from the University of the Philippines - Los Baños.

With an appreciation for the complexity of cases and the multiple solutions to a specific problem in the field of plastic surgery, D^r. Poncio believes that gender-affirming surgery requires not only the skills of a surgeon, but also a vision and appreciation of the art to achieve the best results.

D^r. Poncio joined the CMC in September 2023 as part of the one-year postdoctoral program in Gender Affirmation Surgery offered by the Université de Montréal.
